I just thought I'd make myself useful by helping Dad sort out his sock drawer.


It's a bit of a mess, so I figured I'd help him get started with it...


Ok, I think this one should go in the "sappy Disney collection" pile. Were these fashionable at some point in time??

Strawberry tarts!

Hello! I was watching Fifi and the Flowertots this morning and noticed my favorite character (Fifi, of course) was making strawberry tarts for her friend Primrose. They looked kinda easy to make so I thought it would be within my Mum's capabilities to have a go at making them...

Turns out Mum had made them before when she was little (a really, really, REALLY long time ago) with her Grandma. They use to use the leftover pastry from making apple pies to make strawberry tarts. She even managed to find her Grandma's recipe!


Just testing to make sure the pastry is right before we cut out the circles...



The finished product! We didn't quite have enough strawberry jam so we went with some mango jam for half of them...



Quality control: just checking that the mango jam is ok before they go in the oven



and... voila! The finished product! Maybe could have used a little more jam but otherwise... yummo!

p.s. Fletch gave his approval too... although he's still saying the muffins are better!

Postcard from Port

We went on a little holiday this week to Auntie Tricia's house at Port MacQuarie. It was great!

Auntie Tricia has a really nice big backyard that's fun for playing and sometimes she gets visitors there...


... like this guy who came to visit too while we were there!


We saw the pelicans on the wharf...


... and went for a ride on a ferry which was fun ...


(I'm not really praying we make it back safely, it just looks like that)


And we had fun playing with bubbles in the bath too!


Did anyone see where that bubble went??

The park was lots of fun too....

... even for a little guy like me!

And a visit to Auntie Tricia's just wouldn't be complete without... the beach!


Dora: Queen of the (sand) castle!

I love the feel of sand between my ... fingers?

The texture is interesting, but it tastes a little funny (or maybe it's just that I've got a heap of it in my nappy).

Never mind, I'll just play in this big puddle instead!

Hey Fletch! That's not a puddle! It's the mote for my sandcastle!
